David Feakes is the founder and owner of The Parents Estate Planning Law Firm, PC. Seeking ways to connect and build long-term relationships with his clients, David started the firm in 1998 when his oldest daughter (now in her mid 20s) was just a baby.

David and his wife, Paula (who joined the firm in 2008) wanted to connect with young parents to help them breathe easy knowing that if they created the right plan, there would never be any doubt about who would take care of their children. With this goal in mind, David joined the Family Wealth Planning Institute where he learned everything he could about estate planning for young families.

As David and Paula aged and their two daughters became young adults and moved away from home, they incorporated empty nester planning into their niche and now have a firm that truly serves every stage of parenting.

Everyone has a story they want to share.  David’s story is not unique, but it did shape his career path to owning his own estate planning law firm.  David’s parents divorced when he was young and his father was absent for most of David’s childhood.  Having never felt truly protected by his father as a child, David is committed to ensuring his clients have the best protection in place for their children.

David works with his clients to guide them as they preserve and protect their assets, loved ones and legacies; their stories, guidance and advice – the intangible assets that are often forgotten in typical estate planning.

David received his law degree from Suffolk University in Boston, and a B.B.A. in Management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He frequently speaks to parenting, community and professional groups on the importance of estate planning. 

In his free time, David enjoys skiing, star gazing, hiking with his dog, Stella, traveling, and reading.

Paula Feakes (yes, David’s wife of 29 years) joined the firm in January 2008 as Client Services Director after being “at home” with their two daughters for five years.  Throughout the years, her role has changed and she now proudly holds the following titles:  Client Services and Marketing Director and Firm Administrator!

Paula formerly worked in Boston as a Senior Recruiter for Hollister Associates where she developed, maintained, and serviced major clients, which included some of the largest financial, high-tech and legal firms in Boston.

In her spare time, Paula enjoys gardening, travelling, and photography. Now that she is an empty nester – her free time is spent hiking with, and doting on her Labradoodle, Stella.

Alicia Blanchard is a dedicated estate planning attorney at The Parents Estate Planning Law Firm, serving families across Massachusetts. Alicia graduated from Saint Anselm College with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and minors in French and Asian Studies. Immediately after graduation, she moved to Florida to work at Walt Disney World, where she had the unique job of ensuring Main Street USA had a fresh and unique scent every day.

After three years, Alicia returned to Massachusetts to be closer to her family and pursue her law degree at UMass Law School. During her time at UMass, she was actively involved in Law Review and the Student Government. Upon graduating and passing the bar, Alicia spent six years as a general practice attorney, exploring various areas of law but ultimately developing a deep passion for estate planning.

Alicia’s commitment to estate planning is driven by her close-knit family background and her strong desire to protect her loved ones. Growing up on a farm in Littleton, Massachusetts, she developed a love for gardening, which she continues to enjoy in her spare time. On weekends, you can find Alicia gardening or refinishing and repurposing antiques.

Currently residing in Littleton with her three cats, Alicia also serves as an adjunct professor at UMass Law School, sharing her knowledge and experience with future legal professionals.

Before joining The Parents Estate Planning Law Firm, Erin worked as a Paralegal for the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office. Prior to the DA’s office, she worked for many years in the financial/investment industry. Erin received her Paralegal Certification and Bachelor of Legal Studies from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She lives in Westford with her husband and two children. In her free time, she loves exploring New England and checking faraway destinations off her bucket list. Cooking meals for family and friends is how she relaxes. She also enjoys reading, taking additional legal coursework, and is an avid indoor plant collector and caretaker.

Meet Megan, a valuable member of The Parents Estate Planning Law Firm team. With a background rooted in public service, Megan brings a wealth of experience to our firm.

Prior to joining our team, Megan spent close to a decade serving the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, where she began as an intern during her final semester of college. Her dedication and commitment quickly earned her a full-time role as an Administrator. Megan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Fitchburg State University, where she graduated Cum Laude.

Driven by her innate desire to make a positive impact and her insatiable thirst for knowledge, Megan embarked on a career change to enter the dynamic field of Estate Planning.

Outside of her professional life, Megan resides in Hubbardston with her husband, two beloved shelter dogs, a cherished shelter cat, and a lively flock of four chickens. In her leisure time, she is an avid reader with an extensive book collection, indulges in the joys of antiquing, enjoys leisurely walks and bike rides, and finds solace in long beach strolls.

Shannon Carew is a dynamic Client Services Coordinator at The Parents Estate Planning Law Firm, having joined the team in 2024. With a Bachelor of Arts in Business Communications from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Shannon brings empathy, a warm smile and a fresh perspective to the firm. Her presence in conversations is both inviting and full of care, which is invaluable for our clients, potential clients, and our team.

Residing near Acton, Massachusetts, after relocating from New York, Shannon and her husband Joseph, along with their beloved orange cat Toulouse, are fully immersing themselves in the New England lifestyle. Shannon’s free time is often spent exploring local museums, quaint towns, and scenic hiking trails. She is an avid Boston Bruins fan and enjoys relaxing moments on Lake Winnipesaukee with her family and friends. Shannon also cherishes her role as an aunt to her nephew, Cole, who recently celebrated his first birthday.

Professionally, Shannon is dedicated to enhancing your client experience at The Parents Estate Planning Law Firm. Her role as a Client Services Coordinator involves the crucial first steps of client interaction where she builds trust and sets the stage for your journey through estate planning. Shannon’s approachable demeanor and expert communication skills make her an invaluable asset to both the firm and our clients.

Kelly joined the firm as our Office Manager/Client Concierge in December of 2021. As our Client Concierge, she is looking forward to meeting new people and providing a welcoming and comfortable experience for all who come through the door (or meet us virtually). She lives in Westminster, where she is joined by her partner Rick, and 9-year-old daughter, Sofie, and three cats – Penny, Luna, and Kali. She and her family stay busy with sports, horseback riding, and hiking local trails. Sofie plays basketball and takes riding lessons and Ricky golfs frequently. Kelly enjoys exploring different restaurants, traveling around New England, frequenting O’Neil’s Cinemas, and is famous for anything comfort food, and any Pioneer Woman recipes.
